Thankful for beer

Assuming you're not one of those people who gets up at 4 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving to go shopping, you might be interested in an event far more reasonable and reasonably beer-oriented. New Helvetia Brewing Co. will celebrate its third birthday on Black Friday, November 27, from noon to midnight. Some of New Helvetia's rarest and award-winning beers will be on tap, including three brews from its Mystery Airship series. Expect the Imperial Chocolate Porter, the delightful collaboration with Ginger Elizabeth that took home the gold medal for experimental beer at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival; the Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, which won gold at the Los Angeles International Beer Competition last year; and a super-secret surprise brew. Plus, the Thurston Adambier, which also won a Great American Beer Festival gold medal last year in the historical beer category.
