Tap into the Sierra Brewfest

Plato has often been quoted as saying, “He was a wise man who invented beer.” Well, the 19th annual Sierra Brewfest will take that brilliance to another level by featuring more than 30 microbreweries and 90 different beer tastings. There will be amber ales, wheat lagers, stouts and hard ciders from breweries in Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, Hawaii, Washington and California. Tasters will get a souvenir glass and 20 tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets will be sold for $3 for three tastings. There also will be sausages, barbecue, roasted corn, sushi, Mexican food and other food options. Brewfest attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Bob Mora and the Third Degree Blues Band will perform. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the event, but free for nondrinkers and designated drivers.
