For those of you upset about the extended hiatus from Wolf Parade, enter synth-rock band Handsome Furs to fill the void. In the mold of similar acts like Little Joy (featuring the drummer from the Strokes and his girlfriend), Handsome Furs features Lake Cowichan, British Columbia native Dan Boeckner and his wife, Alexei Perry, a writer and keyboardist whose short story title ended up the name of the band. The two were recently a part of a Web series produced by CNN.com in collaboration with Vice magazine called Indie Asia, where the band toured Asian countries like China, Vietnam and Thailand. 1517 21st Street, http://handsomefurs.com.
