I’ve seen the Finches in an attic. I’ve seen the Finches in a living room. Basically, it feels like I’ve seen them everywhere except a “proper” venue. So this week is my big chance: They’ll be playing The Press Club, which is ironic, because everywhere else I’ve seen them probably is more conducive to Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs’ sweet lullaby than this bar-cum-venue in Midtown. Nevertheless, this is how it is, and oh, what a Record Club Presents gig it will be, what with Troy Mighty’s hypnotic Dead Western and Chelsea Wolfe’s tomes.
