Aaron Neville’s sweet, quavering tenor croon has earned comparisons to Sam Cooke for its power and refinement. The 70-year-old New Orleans soul singer has made music for half of a century. However, other than his big ’60s hit, “Tell it Like it Is,” most were out of print until Neville teamed with Linda Ronstadt for 1989’s Grammy-winning Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind, producing the hit, “Don’t Know Much,” revitalizing both of their careers. He’s remained busy and in demand since.
