Sun, June 26, Jackie Greene
Fairytale Town, 8 p.m., $35
What’s left to say about Jackie Greene that hasn’t already been said? His connections with Sacramento are deep. His little brother Alex Nelson fronts local band Walking Spanish, his management resides in Sacramento and we pretty much blush every time he comes to play in town—which, luckily for us, is often. This Sunday, Greene returns to play a fundraising show for Fairytale Town, for the third year in a row. His latest, 2010’s Till the Light Comes, shows off a new vocal versatility. His voice is gritty during the working-man anthem “Grindstone,” and angelic in songs like “1961” and “The Holy Land.” 3901 Land Park Drive, www.jackiegreene.com.
