Sun, June 26, Alison Krauss
Mondavi Center, 7 p.m., $59.50-$125
It’s hard to imagine a greater soundtrack featuring bluegrass than the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. The Coen brothers-directed film would have suffered without such angelic performances as “Down to the River to Pray,” by Krauss and her band Union Station, which thrust them and their genre back into the mainstream. In her career, the Illinois-born Krauss has earned a record-breaking 26 Grammy awards (the most for a female, beating Aretha Franklin in 2004), released 11 studio albums and performed at the White House. Accompanying Krauss and her band will be M. Ward, taking a break from his project She & Him. 1 Shields Avenue in Davis, www.alisonkrauss.com.
