Sun, July 24, Train
Thunder Valley Casino, 7 p.m., $29-$69
Train crafts the types of songs that get stuck in your head even if you don’t want them to be there. The pop-rock trio from San Francisco has enjoyed a train of contemporary adult-radio hits with singles like “Meet Virginia,” “Drops of Jupiter” and “Calling All Angels.” The band’s latest album, 2009’s Save Me, San Francisco, features the Grammy-winning single “Hey, Soul Sister,” which is successful despite being loaded with Rolling Stones-esque jungle fever. If you can get past the band’s clean-cut image, falsetto-filled vocals and Dave Matthews Band-style cult following, the tunes are damn catchy. 1200 Athens Avenue in Lincoln, www.trainline.com.
