Sun City Girls, the remix

Inspired by magician Harry Houdini, Charles Gocher drummed as though he were in a straitjacket and “breaking out of manacles.” His band Sun City Girls enjoyed over two successful decades of such raucous, avant-garde music-making before Gocher lost his brave battle with cancer last year. In tribute to the late drummer, SSG band mates Alan and Richard Bishop will launch the The Brothers Unconnected: A Tribute to Sun City Girls and Charles Gocher tour in May, performing acoustic renditions of SSG tunes with a screening Gocher’s “video experiments.” Tu 5/27, 7 p.m. $10.
