Strawberries divine
William Butler once said of the strawberry, “Doubtless God could have made a better berry, but doubtless God never did.” The Roseville Historical Society, in accordance with Butler’s berry-loving sentiments, will host the 11th Annual Strawberry Festival. All things berry are included—recipe contests, a strawberry patch, cooking demonstrations and a strawberry shortcake building contest. There will also be arts and crafts, kids activities and live music by Revolver, ClaireMix, Orfita Nelson & J Street, The Old Tyme Religion Singers, Machaira and The Pilgrims. Admission is free, but parking is $2. The festivities last from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. Placer County Fairgrounds, Roseville. Call 781-7066 for more information.
