Here in Sacramento, most localized flooding occurs during December and January, when we typically get the most rainfall. Be prepared: Rake your leaves to prevent the blockage of neighborhood storm drains. Know the safest route to highest ground. Compile a disaster supply kit with a flashlight, a battery-operated radio, extra batteries, a first-aid kit, emergency food and water, a nonelectric can opener, essential medications, cash, shoes, warm clothing and blankets.
