Stick it to Monsanto
The development of Monsanto’s terminator seeds may eventually lead to the sterilization of vegetation worldwide. Yep, that means the end of life as we know it. Yes, it’s a bleak outlook, but the end is not nigh. Show Monsanto who’s boss by swapping healthy, nonterminator seeds with neighbors to start a home garden. The second annual Seed Swap will be Tuesday, February 2, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Boulevard in McKinley Park. Bring flower or vegetable seeds to swap for other varieties. Those that don’t have seeds can pay $5 for an assortment at the door. Viva la vegetación.
