Yuba College professor Richard Murai’s careful eye for composition and delicate use of light earned him an award from Travel Photographer of the Year in 2007 for an elegant photo of an elder Cambodian woman up to her neck in water harvesting snails. Earlier this year, Murai traveled to spiritual and religious sites in Bhutan and Laos to capture similarly rich images that will be displayed at the Mowen Solinsky Gallery.
