Specialty drinks

Have you had your half-caf double 2-percent cappuccino, dry, yet this morning? Coffee drinks have gotten more and more personalized of late. I asked Erin Frey, co-owner of N Street Cafe (2022 N Street, (916) 491-4008), about the craziest drink orders she’s gotten:

“I have one lady who gets a regular nonfat three-quarters-shot iced latte. Then there’s another who orders a large, nonfat, extra-hot, half-chocolate, half-caf mocha.

“The silly thing is a macchiato throws people. It’s actually just espresso with foam, but Starbucks has ruined it. But when people ask for things, I just make it, and I hope they like it!”
