Sole Journey

This short documentary from the same people who produced the excellent For the Bible Tells Me So tells the saga of Soulforce, a nonviolent group dedicated to answering the lies told about GLBTQ people by the religious right. Well-known activists like Mel White and Judy Shepard, as well as until-now anonymous GLBTQ Christians, take on Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson’s right-wing juggernaut of anti-gay propaganda in a 65-mile walk followed by a protest at their Colorado headquarters. In addressing the spiritual harm done to GLBTQ people by the organized religious right, Soulforce doesn’t hope to change them. They just want to get them to stop. (Kel Munger)
