Smooth for citrus
Company Buck, Magpie Cafe
I prefer drinks that kick me in the teeth, be it with harsh alcohol or intense flavors. The Company Buck ($8) is a change of pace, then, considering that it’s not blatantly aggressive in how it lands on the palate (and it’s based on rum, not whiskey, seemingly the only alcohol SN&R staff drinks). A mix of pineapple gum and ginger lemongrass syrups, bitters and a hit of lime juice, it’s a full-bodied cocktail that won’t body you with sticky sweetness.
