Skid marks

So much has happened since 1983. Michael Jackson freaked out the world with his “moon walk” for the first time. The first copy of Microsoft Word was released. But another important moment of ’83 was the creation of Southern Culture on the Skids. The trio that so eloquently wrote the phrase “Baby, you make me wanna walk … like a camel,” whose sound is like if Dick Dale had been raised in the country-fried parts of this country, or if the B-52s had ever performed a hoedown, never fails to leave its audience with both a smile and also a strong feeling of satisfaction.
