Sixth Day, The
The controversy of cloning is observed in this action film spiked with satire, as Arnold Schwarzenegger returns home from work to find a Clone Arnold celebrating his birthday. The movie moves along at a good clip, and has some genuinely funny stuff, most notably a life-like doll that is a warning to all toy designers to tone down on the reality in their products. Arnold continues to soften his screen persona, which works for the most part in spite of that crazy accent. Tony Goldwyn is great as a villainous scientist who wants to control creation, and Robert Duvall does a decent job with a small role. A stupid ending to the movie almost blows the thing sky high, but it’s somewhat forgivable.
