Shop, listen, learn
A successful event includes three things: entertainment, education and shopping opportunities. The savvy folks at The Open Book have made sure their annual Spring Pride Book Fair and Flea Market has an abundant assortment of all three. The entertainment is a mix of the melodic and the verbose. Musical performances by Mark Weigle, Rebecca Danielson and Kelly Conway will be interspersed with book readings, including an appearance by Blood of Mugwump author Doug Rice. On the educational side, representatives from Breaking Barriers and GLSEN will pass out information on promoting health and tolerance in our community. And then there’s the shopping! Dozens of community organizations and vendors will sell all manner of items to enhance your existence. Come browse from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. this Sunday. 910 21st St. Call 498-1004 for more information.
