Seeking equality in the arts
Panel discussion: Women in the Arts; Thursday, March 23
The art world is still a male-dominated one, with women typically making up just 20 percent of an art museum’s collection. In honor of Women’s History Month, the Crocker Art Museum is hosting a discussion on this pervasive inequality. Kathrine Lemke Waste, president of American Women Artists, will moderate the panel, which will include artists Donna Howell-Sickles and Micol Hebron. It costs $15 for nonmembers, $10 for members and $5 for students to attend, and advance registration is recommended. 216 O Street, www.crockerart.org.
