School’s out for summer
Just when you thought you were all set to ride out the summer on your couch, remote clutched in one hand and cell phone in the other, your parents suggest—nay, demand—that you get a job. You’re not sure how to go about procuring this thing that they ensure will help you (a), learn about responsibility, and (b), acquire the dough needed to sustain the comfortable lifestyle you’ve grown accustom to—a lifestyle your parents are no longer willing to support. Well, if you’re a teen between the ages of 14 and 17, you’re invited to attend this free workshop on how to go about landing a job. You’ll learn how to use the Internet to find a job, how to complete a job application and tips on acing an interview. The workshop is slated for 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. this Sunday. The event will be held at the Central Library, 828 I Street. Call (916) 264-2920 for more information.
