Scary Movie

There are three or four good, solid laughs to be had in this teen-slasher movie spoof, but not enough to make this one a keeper. Director Keenen Ivory Wayans assembles a reasonably funny cast and basically tells a lot of dick jokes. He also tells jokes about pubic hair, semen, testicles, pot smoking, anal sex and farts. I liked that Dewey, the character portrayed by David Arquette in the Scream series, is spoofed by a drooling, man-child character named Doofy. I also liked a Blair Witch dig and newcomer Anna Faris’ impersonations of Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewitt. I just spent more time groaning then laughing. Groans are OK, but they can’t be outweighed by the laughs.
