Scanning through history
SacQR
With K Street's future seemingly being decided by deep-pocketed sports-arena developers, it's pretty cool that folks from the Sacramento Public Library are looking into the street's past with its SacQR project. Part smartphone-guided walking tour and part history lesson, the new project can be accessed two ways: Head to www.saclibrary.org/sacqr, and click on one of the addresses; or use an app (there are many free ones available) to scan the QR codes on posters at locations such as the River City Bank (900 K Street), Alejandro's Taqueria (911 K Street) or the old Weinstock's department-store building (1120 K Street). Look for additional QR-code posters to be added at the locations listed on its website.
