There’s Something About Mary laugh riot and shot themselves in the foot. They passed the reins of this cheerfully depraved romantic comedy over to their veteran assistant director J.B. Rogers. The result is a crude tale about a formerly orphaned animal control center employee (
Election's Chris Klein) who loses an ear and his heart to an inept but gorgeous barber (Heather Graham). He then finds out he may be having sex with his own sister and suffers such mishaps as having his arm stuck up to the elbow in a cow’s buttocks. The film co-stars Orlando Jones as an amputee drifter who is frequently reduced to stubs, Richard Jenkins as a stroke victim who gets his face decorated with bird droppings and Sally Field as a mean, bubbly gold digger.
