Sat, Sept 18, Religion
Club 21, 9 p.m., $7-$10
No, this Religion is not filled with hymns, proselytization or baptisms. And no, this is not Religion, the album by ’80s rock band Spear of Destiny. This Saturday at Risqué’s two-year anniversary, the headliner will be Religion, a deejay duo from Los Angeles known for bringing devout club fiends to their knees. The guys perfected their skills in the early days as hip-hop disc jockeys, which kick-started a career in electro dance. Their label, NoisePorn Records, boasts that many consider Religion to be the next Justice, and while I am not sure about that, they have both remixed and been remixed by some of the greats. 1119 21st Street, www.risquenites.com.
