Sat, Nov 28, Death Valley High
Fire Escape Bar and Grill, 8 p.m., $8
Rey Osburn used to head Tinfed, local emo-rock four-piece that fused live electronic programming and rock guitars before every damn band in America began doing so. Anyway, Tinfed got signed, did that, then split—and Death Valley High emerged. I never caught on to DVH’s sound, but they’ve got a new album, Doom, In Full Bloom, and the vibe leans toward industrial alt-rock styling with that same Tinfed-esque electronica backbeat. Give them a chance on Saturday, with Armed for Apocalypse, Name and Rise of Caligula. 7341 Madison Avenue in Citrus Heights; www.myspace.com/deathvalleyhigh.
