You never really know what to expect from Sacramento band Zuhg. One minute, the group is releasing funky reggae-influenced rock albums. Next, it's performing a Dr. Dre tribute show at Harlow's Restaurant & Nightclub or laying into some deep funk grooves with Downtown James Brown at Friday Night Concerts in the Park. So it's not too surprising that its latest album, Calm & Clear, shows off a more stripped-down acoustic-folk-rock side of the group. With dyanmic vocals from both Bryan Nichols and Jesi Naomi, the album's packed full of love songs and occasional moments of regular rockin' Zuhg.
