Former Sacramento-based electronic-rock duo Playboy School is back in town for a show at the Blue Lamp. After making the move to Los Angeles in January, the pair is back to show what the SoCal sunshine has done to it. Judging by a recent crop of videos, it's been a good thing. Playboy School's marriage between heartfelt folk, electronic dance music and power pop has become more eclectic and seamless. Even though it tends to play as a quartet more these days (which leans live shows toward a rock direction), it's still the same core of Liani Moore and Mackenzie Knoester—both multi-instrumentalists and genre tinkerers. 1400 Alhambra Boulevard, www.facebook.com/pbsmusic.
