Teenaged pop-punk trio and SN&R Jammies finalists Simpl3Jack played a show last month at The Refuge, one of Midtown’s abundant all-ages venues, and destroyed the place. OK, so they didn’t throw a VIP-room fit, but Cole Apperson, Wyatt Cermak, Ryan Kendall did indulge in a favorite rock-star backstage pastime: chatting up girls. Later onstage, they delivered on their promise. Some 100-plus fans, those in the front sporting “S3J” band T-shirts, flooded the stage as they rolled through a solid 25-minute alt-rock set. They’ll play Third Saturday at Downtown Plaza at 3 p.m.; Ricky Berger goes on at 1 p.m., too, and Katy Jane at noon. 547 L Street, www.simpl3jack.com.
