Sat, April 17, Los Blazing Hangovers
Old Ironsides, 9 p.m., $7
As Los Blazing Hangovers run through their practice set in an old East Sac house, I wonder what the neighbors are thinking. Rethinking their lease agreement? Nah, they’re probably moving furniture aside to create a makeshift dance floor. By extracting many raucous elements of Latin music (quick tempo, excited melody, bursts of accordion), fused with country, rock ’n’ roll and even punk rock, Los Blazing Hangovers stumbled upon the ultimate party music. Vocalist Sam Miranda (Sol Peligro) created this group to, yes, get people drunk. And what we need now, maybe more than ever, is a really good inebriated celebration. 1901 10th Street.
