Sat, April 16, Gohar Vardanyan
Christ Community Church, 7 p.m., $15
Want to hang with some of the region’s best guitarists? Then head out to the ’burbs this weekend for the Sacramento Guitar Society’s presentation of two of the most talented classical fingerpickers. (OK, that’s a crude term for the traditional-style guitarists who play on nylon-stringed guitars). Headlining is Gohar Vardanyan, a Juilliard School of Music grad who’s studied with a ton of masters. Portland’s Jesse McCann, of the Oregon Guitar Quartet, will open. The concert is part of a larger, three-day West Coast Guitar Societies event; find out more at www.sacramentoguitarsociety.org. 5025 Manzanita Avenue in Carmichael, www.goharvardanyan.com.
