Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner. Here are some Sactown celebrations of the Mexican army’s 1862 win over French armed forces at the Battle of Puebla:

Cinco de Drinko: Tres Roseville (formerly Tres Agaves) will be holding a Cinco de Mayo celebration featuring folklórico dancers, photo booths, cigar rolling, deejays, and live bands Element of Soul and Private Criminals. Dinner dance: Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall Post 67 will throw a benefit dinner dance for its scholarship fund and building beautification. Fun Run: Fleet Feet Sports is organizing a Cinco de Mayo Fun Run, a free, casual 3-mile run along the river. Runners are encouraged to donate to Project Fit, a youth after-school sports program. Grand opening: Sacramento’s brand-new Tequila museum and Mexican restaurant will hold a weeklong grand-opening celebration.
