Sacramento Regional Transit riders experienced fewer thefts in 2015

Fewer thefts and more cameras. That’s what Sacramento Regional Transit riders experienced in 2015, according to RT’s Police Services unit.

Specifically, riders reported 11 percent fewer thefts last year than they did in 2014, a Police Services release states. That amounts to 60 thefts total, 46 percent of which resulted in an arrest.

The release partially attributed the lower crime figures to a “robust surveillance camera system that covers RT’s stations and all RT trains and buses.”
