Rumpelstiltskin
Writer Jerry Montoya scripted this free-wheeling adaptation of the classic Brothers Grimm folk tale, which includes the standard bit about spinning straw into gold, but also includes some up-to-date jokes about foreclosures and other modern phenomena. John Lamb, with teased-up hair, handles the twitchy, dwarfish title role. There’s some funny physical comedy including the cast’s three big men (Joe Styron, Peter Story, Rick Kleber) and some cute costumes by Nancy Pipkin (including a milk cow with an udder). Kids will enjoy the ride, and parents will laugh as well, but this one doesn’t really have sufficient crossover appeal to make it attractive to adults attending without kids. B Street Family Series, 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, (10 a.m. performances on April 19 and May 3); $15-$22.
