Ross Hammond
“Black Unity is really what got me into free jazz,” explained jazz guitarist Ross Hammond, whose recent projects include the Race!!! Quintet (which performs on Sundays at Old Ironsides), the Ross Hammond Trio and the Ni Project. Hammond included the album on his Playlist, offering this justification: “This record is just one song, about 40 minutes or so, and is killin’ the whole way through. Possibly my favorite album of all time. Beautiful.”
