Room for dessert

All spring I’ve been taste-testing frozen treats to recommend to you dear readers to enjoy come the sweltering days of summer. It was a lengthy and, frankly, ongoing process. Alas, someone had to do the grunt work. I’ll provide recommendations over the upcoming weeks, but let’s begin with Talenti’s Roman Raspberry sorbetto. I’ve spied it confidently stacked behind the glass freezer door at Whole Foods Market in its reusable, clear plastic pint jar and humbly nestled in Save Mart Supermarkets’ old-school freezer aisle. Made with simple ingredients, the berry flavor is vivid, and the texture (seeds included) is as velvety as the fruit; not icy like some sorbets, and not at all mediocre.
