Rockers 1, Robbers 0

Things could have gone so much more badly for Aron Scott. He was kidnapped, robbed of all his guitar gear and shot at during a late night cigarette stop in North Highlands (see “Rockers vs. robbers,” June 21). Sacramento Sheriff’s deputies had no trouble finding the thug, who pulled the brash robbery just a couple of blocks from his own apartment. But Scott’s gear had mysteriously disappeared in the two hours before the arrest. The robber kept the stash secret just long enough to bargain a few years off his sentence, and Scott is now reunited with his guitar, amps and pedals.

“The DA and the Public Defender both told me that this never happens. There must have been some angel watching over,” Scott said. Rather than push his luck, Scott’s decided to skip the late night smoke runs after gigs.
