Robots
This visually rapturous computer-animated joy ride from the makers of
Ice Age is just as much about the importance of spare parts as it is about following one’s own dreams. A young robot (voiced by Ewan McGregor) ventures with parental support from tiny Rivet Town to the bright lights and bustling big business of Robot City in hopes of impressing legendary tycoon Bigweld with one of his better inventions. He discovers Bigweld is no longer running his huge corporation and uncovers a conspiracy of greed that will impact the lives of robots everywhere. The plot and themes are tissue-paper thin, but the amazingly detailed characters (with voices provided by Robin Williams, Halle Berry, Mel Brooks, Drew Carey and others) and action are intoxicating.
