Risky business
Reporting on a war is just as deadly as fighting it. The Committee to Protect Journalists recently reported that the number of journalists killed in Iraq (2003-present) is now larger than the number of journalists killed in World War II (1939-1945) and tied with the number of reporters who died in Vietnam. But war zones are exactly the place where reporters need to be—at least, if we want to know what’s really going on.
