Reading toward equality
June 5-June 7, Sacramento Black Book Fair
The second annual three-day Sacramento Black Book Fair kicks off on Friday, June 5, at eight different venues in Oak Park. With the current state of relations between black communities and law enforcement at a pivotal moment, it seems a vital time as any to hear from writers, artists and thinkers such as Marvin X, Dianne M. Pinderhughes, local author Terris McMahan Grimes, among others. Friday June 5, to Sunday, June 7, free. Various locations; www.sacramentoblackbookfair.com.
