Put down the plant
The Man just can’t get enough pot, can he? The California government has seized more marijuana plants this year than ever—1.68 million to be exact. For comparison, 10 years ago a mere 94,221 plants were seized. The Department of Justice is bragging about all the raids this season (477) and how successful they’ve been ($6.7 billion worth uprooted this year). So with this hugely successful campaign, there must’ve been a lot of arrests, right? Uh, yeah … 27. Keep up the good work guys. Let’s see how much weed has been wasted in selected counties around Northern California in the name of the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting. Sacramento didn’t make the DOJ’s list of the 34 weediest counties. But way to go, Yolo!
