Proof of Life

There’s a good movie in here starring Russell Crowe and David Morse, and then there’s a lousy one starring Meg Ryan. Morse plays a businessman kidnapped in a foreign land, and Ryan plays his grumpy wife. Crowe stars as some sort of kidnapping rescue-effort agent who decides to help Ryan with the negotiating, eventually throwing on some war paint for an action-packed finale. Crowe and Morse are very good, but the movie bogs down with every second Ryan spends on the screen. An actress more fitting for the role would’ve made this a better movie. With that being said, I hope Crowe doesn’t kick my ass.
