Primitive fun

It’s time to get outside and appreciate the simple life—the really simple life in the native Californian Indian fashion. The Yuba Historical Society will host a Primitive Middle Mountain walk in the Sutter Buttes on Sunday, May 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Chuck Kritzon, an old-ways specialist at the Maidu Interpretive Center, will guide participants to several Maidu and Wintun Indian encampments and will demonstrate his handiwork in making tools used by the Native Californians.
