Preview: ‘Martin Luther King Jr. and the Sound of Freedom’ at B Street Theatre
Martin Luther King Jr. and the Sound of Freedom is playing now as an installment of B Street Theatre’s family series. Returning to the Sacramento stage before a stint on Broadway is Jahi Kearse, portraying King in this work written and directed by Jerry Montoya. Take in the stark reality of racism in the United States—and while you’re here, consider some of Kings’ words: “Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will.” Sat 1/26, 3pm; Sun 1/27, 1pm & 4pm; Sat 2/2, 1pm; Sun 2/3, 1pm.
