Shakespeare’s The Tempest gets an acrobatic retelling in the form of Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna. The story opens with the goddess Prospera, celebrating her daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony. Afterward, Prospera summons a literal storm, in which several young men wash up on shore. From there, a love story between Prospera’s daughter and one of the soggy young men unfolds, and that’s when things really take off. Be prepared to watch performers teetering on teeterboards, spinning around on aerial straps and swimming in a big bowl of water.
