Share the baklava, pimp your ride and test the water—you’re in Sacramento. Using Google Trends and hometown intuition, SN&R took shots in the dark to figure out what Sacramentans are searching for. Entering a term into Google Trends gives a list of top-10 cities for any particular search term. Google compares the number of searches for that particular term in each city against the total searches in that city. We found that Sacramento Googled for “Ron Weasley” more than any other city in the nation last year. So we get a “1” for interest in Harry Potter’s red-haired sidekick. But we only ranked seventh in searches for “George Bush.” Here’s some more insight into what local curiosity is made of.
