Post Grad

Critics were so quick to anoint Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as the most asinine movie of the year, they didn’t account for the possibility of another film lowering the bar less than two months later. With the release of Vicky Jenson’s insipid comedy Post Grad, Michael Bay automatically moves up one notch, reason enough to hate this terribly unfunny film. Alexis Bledel plays Ryden Malby, the ambitious eldest daughter of a Nickelodeon-dysfunctional clan who remains jobless after graduation. Bledel is bad, really bad, but she’s handcuffed by a script that makes Gilmore Girls look like The Great Gatsby. The atrocities are too manifold to list (although the sadly de rigueur animal torture/murder “slapstick” scene is especially hateful); sufficed to say that Post Grad is an unqualified embarrassment for everyone involved, including myself.
