Popping with perfection
“The best popcorn in town” is from the Fat Face kitchen at Bows & Arrows (1815 19th Street), according to local drummer Sam Coe. And upon sampling, the dude is on to something—though I can’t say I’ve tried the free ’corn in the Les Schwab Tire Center waiting area, likely made with trans-fatty margarine or cow-unfriendly butter. But the Fat Face snack is made with olive oil and is uniquely savory, seasoned with nutritional yeast, cumin and mysteriously described “Indian spices.” It’s a combination worth trying, and I did—in my own kitchen, too. I generously dusted the (known) ingredients, plus salt and paprika on some popcorn, resulting in a tasty and addictive likeness.
