Pooh’s Heffalump Movie

Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood, signs of an invasion by the mysterious, dreaded heffalump are discovered, and Pooh, Rabbit, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore set out on an expedition to capture it. Meanwhile, little Roo, too small to tag along, goes off alone and actually meets a heffalump, who isn’t nearly as terrible as he’s supposed to be. The Disney gang said it had put away the ink-and-paint animation after Home on the Range, but here we are again (this one was originally slated to go straight to video). It’s lightweight and pleasant entertainment for very small children, short and careful not to wear out its welcome. The simple, cheerful songs are by Carly Simon. By the way, John Fiedler, who does the voice of Piglet, is the last of the original voices from 1968’s Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day.
