Pizza! Pizza!
I talked to Matt Woolston, chef and owner of the Supper Club (1616 Del Paso Blvd.) about his new restaurant, Matteo’s Pizza & Bistro (5132 Arden Way).
“We really enjoy the feel of a neighborhood gathering spot and are looking forward to hosting a lot of our friends and neighbors. We will continue to keep the Supper Club special, but we wanted to offer a casual, more affordable place for everyday dining.
“Even though our menu will feature pizzas and pastas, it will be done with a global theme, utilizing all kinds of interesting flavors. We will be offering a good amount of fresh, lighter cuisine also. We will also offer 12 beers on tap and 20 wines by the glass.
“Our chef is Stu Edgecombe, who was head chef for four years at Esquire Grill. Before that he worked with Patrick Mulvaney and River City Brewing Company. We feel very lucky to land him.”
